The College of Law and Administration was founded in 2020 as one of the University of Halabja colleges when it comprised two departments which were Department of Law and Department of International Trade. A year later, it opened the third department - Department of Politics and International Relations.

The Law Department, at the master's stage, will grant master's degrees in both public and private law. The education system in the Department of Law follows an annual bachelor's degree structure, whereas the Department of Law in master stage with the other two departments, International Trade and Political and International Relations, adhere to the Bologna Process and the course system.

Our college

I warmly welcome you to our college on behalf of the Dean of the College of Law and Administration. The College of Law and Administration aims to develop students' skills and potentials in all fields of study at the college so that it can fill the gap the society has related to law, international trade, politics and international relations. For the sake of this objective, the college strives to provide a suitable modern environment to gain students' trust to achieve the mentioned goals. The College endeavors to address the issue of the Halabja Genocide and raise general legal awareness among survivors, students, and the community at large regarding how to compensate victims and losses and confront Genocide.

The College of Law and Administration was established in 2020 as one of the colleges of the University of Halabja. Graduates from all three departments will be conferred with bachelor's degrees. Meanwhile, the Law Department, at the master's stage, will grant master's degrees in both public and private law. College Council

What is the College Council and what does it do?

The College Council is composed of the Dean of the College, Heads of Departments, Employes Representatives, and, when necessary, Student Representatives. The council is responsible for discussing all scientific and administrative matters within the college, including the determination of work and rest schedules, examination schedules, and admission issues.

The College Council performs the following functions:

  • Recommending admission requirements for academic departments and overseeing their implementation after approval.
  • Recommending the number of students to be admitted at the beginning of each academic year.
  • Proposing plans for the establishment of new scientific departments and branches, as well as suggesting the creation, merger, or dissolution of existing scientific departments or branches.
